Picture your Future
Picture your Future is a series of workshops that gives artists from the DC metro area the business skills they need to successfully market their art in the current economy. This will not only contribute to their living standard, but also to the DC art community in general. At the end of the project, in April 2010, the artists will organize an art auction to implement their business skills in practice.
During the workshops, experienced professionals will give guest-lectures to share their tips and tricks related to art and business. Topics covered include communication skills, marketing and promotion, digital media, pricing and book-keeping and customer relations.
The workshops will take place from 8pm-10pm on the following days:
Jan. 7 Communicating your uniqueness
Jan. 21 Intellectual property rights
Feb. 4 Fundraising
Feb. 18 Pricing your art
Mar. 4 Keeping track of payments
Mar. 25 Maintaining customer relations
Apr. 8 Combining your new skills
Apr. 22 Application in practice: Art auction
Due to the high number of participants, it is unfortunately not possible anymore to register for this series of workshops. Please check back in Fall 2010 for our next Picture your Future project.
